Brandwave account manager Ollie Robinson reflects on the inaugural Brandwave Bleep test that saw the Brandwave team sweating it out in aid of Sport Relief 2014
Being a sports marketing agency and a highly competitive one at that, it only felt natural for us to don our runners and do our bit for Sport Relief 2014!
After a few ideas being thrown across the table on how we could support this fantastic cause, it was collectively decided upon that we should all participate in a good old-fashioned Bleep Test. Reminiscing of old school day PE lessons over one lunch, the first official Brandwave Bleep Test was born, with a creative fancy dress twist of course!
For those of you unfamiliar and fortunate enough to have escaped taking part in one before, the bleep test is a lactic acid inducing multi-stage fitness test designed to challenge and push even the most elite athletes. It should be noted at this point, enthusiastic amateurs we are, elite athletes we are not…
With the idea firmly in place we set to it, spreading the word and raising the much needed sponsorship for Sport Relief. After a quick recruitment run around the neighbours here at Brandwave HQ, we also managed to convince the guys at Shore Watersports to join with us for the main event, big thanks again guys for sporting the fancy dress and running with us!
Obviously the largest thank you of the day goes to all of the clients, family and friends of Brandwave who kindly supported the Brandwave Bleep Test and donated to Sport Relief. You’re all extremely generous and it’s most appreciated that you showed us your support and helped make a difference to those in need!
As the hours passed counting down to the 4pm start last Friday, the tension rose and a competitive mist fell upon East Wittering. Sports supplements were secretly consumed and evil tactics Googled, but it was time.
